Children's Earrings | Choosing Childrens Jewelry

Choosing Childrens Jewelry

A new baby is always cause for celebration and gift giving, although sometimes finding the perfect gift that will be unique and lasting can be a challenge! One solution is jewelry. Giving a piece of jewelry allows you to have the option then of giving something that can be put away for when the child is an adult- for such an occasion as an 18th or 21st birthday- or choosing something tiny and delicate, especially designed for a baby.

Of course, there are more options for a baby girl when it comes to giving a piece of jewelry, although a men’s ring, watch or necklace could be an appropriate gift ‘for later’ for a baby boy. Charm bracelets and ID bracelets have always been popular for baby girls and they often sport the traditional bluebird but there are so many beautiful and unique charm designs out there now that the sky really is the limit. There are charms now with popular cartoon characters, cute critters from ladybirds to frogs and even things like windmills for the baby of Dutch descent!

One way to personalize the jewelry gift is to select a piece that has the child’s birthstone. Children’s earrings often are displayed according to birthstone which makes it easier but for other jewelry pieces a quick Google search will easily give you the correct stone for the month of birth. You can also save on cost, while not jeopardizing quality, by opting to choose a simulated diamond or other stone in the piece. Simulated gems are created in a laboratory with the result of a beautiful gem with the same chemical composition as a mined gem. They are just as dazzling as the mined gems while having the benefit of being significantly less expensive and better for the environment. Quality simulated gems are impossible to tell apart from mined gems with the naked eye and are able to be placed in settings just like a mined gem would.

The setting itself should be of quality if it is to be a keepsake as well as a gift and traditionally gold (either yellow or white gold) has always been the popular choice.  If it is within your means then platinum, of course, would be the optimum although at the end of the day the main concern is that the gift is given from the heart and nothing shows this more than a little thought and inspiration with a personal touch.
